When should I have my first Pap smear?
We recommend your first Pap smear should be by age 21 or earlier if you have been sexually active.
How often do I need a gynecological exam?
You should see us annually for an exam and discussion of health risks.
What can I do for painful menstrual cramps?
Call our office for an appointment so we may discuss causes of painful menstrual cramps and potential treatments.
When should I start getting Mammograms?
Women should start having mammograms at age 40.
Do you treat perimenopausal and menopausal women?
Yes. Our doctors provide gentle care to ease women through the change of life.
Can your office teach me about NFP
Yes, we support all forms of Natural Family Planning and will be happy to work with your instructor.
When will I have my first prenatal visit?
Your first OB visit should be around 8 weeks from your last menstrual period.
How often will I need to come for my visits?

Where does your practice deliver?
Our doctors deliver at Good Samaritan Hospital, located at 3815 Highland Avenue, Downers Grove.
What are my nutritional needs during pregnancy?
We recommend a healthy, well balanced diet that contains proteins, carbohydrates, vegetables, fruits, dairy, vitamins, minerals, fats, and oils.
How much weight should I gain?
For most women, the gain should be 25-35 pounds.
Is caffeine safe during pregnancy?
In moderation, caffeine is safe to consume while you are pregnant.
Is alcohol safe during pregnancy?
Alcohol is not recommended during pregnancy.
Does your office have ultrasound equipment?
Yes, we perform pregnancy and gynecological ultrasounds in office.
What medications are safe to take during my pregnancy?
Can I have a birth plan for my labor and delivery?
Of course! We look forward to working with you.
Where can I go for educational classes at Good Samaritan Hospital?
Can I go to the dentist while pregnant?
Yes, we recommend that you continue with routine dental visits during your pregnancy. Make sure the dentist is aware of your pregnancy so you may be properly shielded from any X-rays that may be needed to be done.
Should I be cleaning our cat’s litter box?
Consider having someone else clean and change the litter box. Use gloves and wash your hands with hot soapy water if you must. Without taking the proper sanitary measures, infection is possible.
Can I exercise during pregnancy?
Yes, we recommend low or no impact exercise, such as swimming or walking. You’ll know if you are exercising too vigorously, if you are unable to carry on a conversation while exercising.
Can I sit in a jacuzzi or hot tub?
We do not recommend using a jacuzzi or hot tub during pregnancy.
Is it safe to paint?
If you are painting indoors, make sure the area is well ventilated.
